Col 1:15-20 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, in heaven & on earth, visible & invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him & for Him. And He is before all things, & in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent. For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, & through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross.”
1 Peter 1:10-12 “Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched & inquired carefully, inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ & the subsequent glories. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.”
Luke 4:16-19 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as was His custom, He went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day, & He stood up to read. And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to Him. He unrolled the scroll & found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives & recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
“Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing” (Luke 4:21).
Heb 10:5-7 Consequently, when Christ came into the world, He said, “Sacrifices & offerings You have not desired, but a body have you prepared for Me; in burnt offerings & sin offerings You have taken no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God, as it is written of Me in the scroll of the book.'”
Ps 40:6 “Sacrifice & offering You have not desired, but you have given Me an open ear.”
Heb 10:8-11 When He said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices & offerings & burnt offerings & sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), then he added, “Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He abolishes the first in order to establish the second. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
Ps 78:2 “I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old.”
Ps 8:2 “Out of the mouth of babes & infants, You have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy & the avenger.”
Matt 21:15-16 But when the chief priests & the scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, & the children crying out in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant, & they said to Him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, “‘Out of the mouth of infants & nursing babies you have prepared praise’?”
“For nothing will be impossible with God” (Luke 1:37).
