Onesimus was a runaway slave that wound up in Rome. He meets the apostle Paul, and is brought to the faith. Now Paul has to get Onesimus back to his master Philemon, but not as a slave; as a brother in Christ. How does Paul do it? He uses tact, grace, and a modeling structure that gives every Christian the format for dealing with the brethren in times of crisis. He also gives us the key – tapping into the internal power, which is found in Romans 5:5.
