The Sixth Commandment states, “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). The Hebrew word for “murder” is not used in any other Ancient Near Eastern language, and is unique to the Biblical Hebrew. It is critical to understand various terminology connected to the text, i.e., the concept of the law of retaliation. This sermon is part 8 of a study on The Ten Commandments.
