Warning: Faling Objects

April 28, 2019

2 Sam 4:4 “Jonathan, the son of Saul, had a son who was crippled in his feet. He was five years old when the news about Saul and Jonathan came from Jezreel, and his nurse took him up and fled, and as she fled in her haste, he fell and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.”

It is possible to carry people we care about to safety, but in our haste, we can drop them. Have you ever tried helping someone, only to hurt them instead? On another note, have you ever questioned (in your mind) a person’s disability, i.e., a person blind or crippled from birth or from an illness as a child? The disciples of Jesus were curious about the blindness of a person they encounters, and they confronted Jesus about their question: John 9:1-4 “As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth. And His disciples asked him, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?’ Jesus answered, ‘It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.'”

This sermon is the first of a three-part series entitled “REJECTION.” Stay with us in the series. You won’t regret it.
