John 1:4-18 details the greatest Christmas narrative ever told. The Son of God, who was not created, but who created all things and holds all things together (Col 1:16-17), took on flesh (suited up and jumped in the game). What does this Word-Made-Flesh have for us? He has life & light. He gives life to whom ever He will (John 5:21). It was necessary for this Savior to become flesh (John 1:14) in order to receive our punishment, so that in return we can be given both life and light.
