2 Ti 4:1-5 “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5 As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
The exhortation to “Preach the Word” is the main responsibility that Paul shares in this section. Everything else he says is related to it. The word preach in the Strong’s NT:2784 is kerusso: it means – “to herald (as a public crier), especially divine truth (the gospel).” Paul tells Timothy that he needs to “preach like a herald.”
We take from this instruction that not only should Timothy had followed this instruction, but it passes through time to us – such is God’s Word – Alike and active. In our earthly walk, we have heaven’s mentality & God’s will shapes our purposes. Are we doing the work of an evangelist? Are we fulfilling our ministry? Are we, as the church of Christ, working out our purposes and being a herald for our Master?

Amen for the powerful message.
Preached the Word!
